This and the place on the other side, Los Humbertos, are both great places for yucatecan bites. It's all good and comforting.

Excellent experience of the Yucateco cuisine. Not centrally located but worth the ride. We were there for a Sunday lunch and found ourselves the only foreigners (always a good sign). We arrived right on the opening hour. The queue was building up pretty fast and by the time we were finished there was probably an hour waiting time. We ordered a variety of traditional dishes and our favourites were Sopa de lima, Panuchos de cochinita and Pavo relleno negro. Service was fast although the place was packed.

The place is cute, service is good, but definitely the food and price are the best thing about this restaurant. The food feels homemade, traditional and full of flavour, everything at an incredible price.

If you're a fan of traditional Yucatan cousin, you can't miss this place. Together with Humberto's it's one of the best places in town in terms of flavors of the food and its price. Services is good too. However, you have to be comfortable with a potentially long wait. I arrived shortly before 2pm on a Sunday and had to wait a solid 30 min for a table. The menu is not huge, yet it offers traditional options. I tried panuchos de cochinita, tacos de lechon, doraditas de pescado, and despite the hot day, a lime soup. All tasted amazing. For dessert, I had a marquesita, which are made on a stand just outside on the sidewalk. Service was very good, although a bit slow. Price was very competitive.

Fonda 99.99 is pure magic—quality guaranteed! I've been coming here for over a decade, and it never disappoints. The prices are unbelievably good, and the food consistently exceeds expectations. Combine that with amazing service, and you’ve got one of the best dining experiences in the city. My most recent visit was on a Tuesday, and for the first time, the place was all ours—no crowds, just us soaking up the cozy vibes. As always, the food was incredible, and we even enjoyed a delightful digestivo to wrap up the meal. The service? Top-notch, as always. That said, there are a couple of things to note: it’s usually very busy, and they don’t take reservations, so plan accordingly. Also, only cash is accepted. And the only real downside? The toilets—they’re tiny! But honestly, these minor inconveniences are a small price to pay for such an outstanding culinary experience. Fonda 99.99 is an absolute gem. Highly recommended!
